Prose Passage Analysis #1

1 comment:

  1. First of all, Will, I would like to thank you for materials applicable outside of this class; I put a few of your quotes to good use in my speech and debate class to argue how democracy can be corrupted. I used many of the quotes from this section on punishment, natural rights and voting. I thought Heinlein had revolutionary ideas and was ahead of his time, while he is easy to disagree with his quotes concerning human rights never being existent, just privileged worked to destroy a counter argument of my opposition. This man truly says what is socially unacceptable to say. I think that the speeches that his characters give are similar to Hamlet’s soliloquy in front of the mirror. So much is revealed about how the characters feel it gives deeper meaning to the piece. I truly thought you had an excellent comprehension in regard to the book, while your presentation was lacking quotations. I would have liked to see the incorporation of more textual evidence into your PowerPoint specifically from this prose passage chart. You outlined many good, memorable quotes. Thanks for the insight!
